It's been so awfully gloomy in Houston and my brain is not adapting to the lack of sunlight. I suffer from SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder), which takes a lot out of me to say because I feel some people don't understand what it is. I function based on the amount of sunlight I get. Since there hasn't been much in Houston, my mood hasn't been so easy to handle. Aside from feeling extremely exhausted even after 8 hours of sleep, everything pisses me off. I also get  horrible anxiety and I become tremendously lazy.  Not to mention the horrible headaches I get when I try to accomplish some work during the day. The only bright side is that the symptoms are getting better each year. I was able to work on some things even with my moodiness. The person that had to deal with it most was my mom. Poor woman got an earful from me, and I don't even know how to apologize to her.  That just means I am dipping into that good ol' savings account to ship her off to some place nice.

When I am in a funk, I usually don't make YouTube videos because it's hard to put on a happy face on camera. Instead, I dive myself into a fashion textbook. It's good to brush up on old skills and also learn new ones. I read over the textbooks from my class and I even try to read new ones that are offered from other schools.

As you guys may know, I am going to start selling some of the stuff I have made. These shorts are side projects I'm playing with, but yes, I will take orders for them once I decide on my main fabric. This one is a test sample for fit and for pattern grading. It turned out quite nice. Not to brag (completely bragging), but I patterned it and it came out perfectly on the first try. The Chevron panels were individually sewn in. Twenty four painful pieces and the shorts came out pretty bitching! I've pieced much worse things, but I guess I was happy since I was in a mood.

I have to thank my mom for keeping it all organized for me. I sewed on the right panels and she did the left ones because I had to grade the shorts. The only reason why I am able to start selling my stuff is because my mom is willing to help. Aside from taking orders, shipping, ordering fabrics, patterning, and grading...I practically have no time to sew. Basically, I'll sew the sample pieces and my mom will start helping me fulfill orders. Still a lot of work to think about. I'm anxious, excited, and a little proud that I am taking this next step. However, the shorts are not what I'm really excited about. My secret idea is coming up soon, maybe after Valentine's day I'll "launch" it.

*H&M (New York) Top: Another one of those lucky finds on the sales rack $4.99
*DIY Leather Chevron Shorts
*See By Chloe Pointed Booties from SSense. These were my favorites for the January selection and my wonderful Fiancé bought them for me for Christmas.
*Swatch (New York) Gold Watch
*Can't remember where I got the newsboy hat. Also worn here.

I love the shorts! It looks like you put a lot of hard work into what you do, and I look forward to when you open orders. I hope your SAD gets better and that you launch your "secret idea" successfully. Good luck!

Those are sooooo cute! I can't wait for you to start taking orders! I have trouble with SAD, too, during the winter. My doctor told me to take vitamin D pills, which I do religiously, and it's still pretty rough. Hope this winter is extra not bad for you! :-)

Everyone should supplement their diet with a daily vitamin, especially vegans. Make sure your vitamins are not made with any animal products.

Don't confuse the term "budget" with "poor-quality." Expired food products, rotting produce or old meats are not a bargain. Aim to discover parts of the city where you can obtain quality ingredients at a reasonable price.

Forbes Magazine Articles are probably a better pick for those investing in the stock market, futures, or forex market, and already have some experience and a strategy to work off of.
