I've been working none stop on my skirt line. I have already ordered fabrics for my dresses, but that is just something I'll take orders for up until I launch my "brand". I call it a brand because it's something that represents me as a "designer" (I put things into quotations because I'm still second guessing myself).

Think of it this way. The 50s/60s dresses is a DIY I made, and I got a lot of requests to sell them so I am taking orders. Simple as that! Now my skirt line is my baby. I've been head-aching and sending out emails like a crazy business woman. I am NOT a business woman. I am one of those artists that cannot handle numbers or deadlines. However, I do try...and the only reason why I am trying is because I can't afford it. I can't afford the time nor the financial backing to get help.

I am tired.

I feel like all of these business like things is taking  me away from the actual design. So sad that these little minute things are the things that makes me want to quit.

Anyways, the mock and samples for the skirts are made and they are WONDERFUL! I'm so excited. I just need to narrow down my fabric choices and work on the more technical things.

So this is where the contest comes in. It's more of uhhh I scratch yo' back, you scratch mah back kind of deal.

I need graphics/logos made for my line of clothing.

For now let's use the pretend brand called Purple Dust.

*I need business card templates made
*Hanging Tags for the Clothes
*Sewn in Labels for the Garments
*Graphics for Stickers/Labels

-I need you to incorporate a Pear into these templates. Either in text, the actual fruit..or whatever you think would work.
-My favorite color is yellow..any shades would work for me.
-I like it to be cute, edgy and not too girly.

Winners:
-If my clothing line does succeed, your work will be on all of my stuff. Of course, you will sign your rights over to me, but you will be credited for your work
-You will receive two skirts from my line or a $50.00 gift card to store of choice.

Please send entries to Klpigmentshop@gmail.com with subject: Purple Dust.
Deadline: February 27,2013.

Good Luck Everyone!

Do you have specific dimensions you would like them to be?

Business cards would have to be the standard business card size. Anything else I am opened to the dimensions. We can scale it up or down later on....

do we have to include purple dust in the design or can it be anything like K.L.? Also, for all of the card templates, tags, and labels, can they be the same design but different sizes? Thanks.

Erin, yes you have to use the name purple dust in the design. Everything can be the same with different sizes.

Can I draw it on paper and then photocopy that? I'm not too handy with computer drawing...

The sticker is for packaging and the labels are to sew into the garment.

This is really nice...Best of luck to you...Also, my boyfriend is a web designer and I don't know if these people will do it for fun...But coming up with a good logo, tag, business cards, takes a lot of hours...Go check out 99designs.com and see how much it costs...You are giving way to little for what you ask for....Have a nice day!

I know how much it costs...and I can come up with my own stuff as well without having to work with a designer. I'm providing an opportunity for those who are just starting out. People work for free as an intern and that's even more hours than this. In the end...if they are selected ..for the next decade of my business they will get credit for their work. That mean any person who buys my stuff will see their work too. Word of mouth will travel far. If anyone thinks they are not being compensated enough for their work, then why bother to enter my small contest right? I use to make dresses for free just to get some recognition and now I don't even start buying fabric unless I have a down payment. Everyone starts somewhere and in the creative field u do things for free just to get ur name out there. If u start out immediately thinking u r too good to do anything for free you will be very surprised that there are much more talented people than u who will. Also, this is targeted for new individuals...it's not fair to compare this to a graphic design company that is already established with set prices. Not to mention, I did state that u can use the same graphic in the business card, hang tag, labels and etc. I'm just starting out as a business owner and someone is just starting out as a graphic artist...why not work together?

This sounds super dee duper fun... I am a student in art school and I am not sure if I will have enough time for this, but I will try. :)

Also: if you do become successful one day.... can you give your graphic designer person discounts on your clothing? I know ya cant give it away for free all the time. But a discount would also be an awesome incentive. :D

Thanks!
